I don’t love breastfeeding | The Leaky B@@b.

Love this post. My friend shared it with me today and I felt the need to share it with you. It is a very honest post and if you are planning a family, have one on the way or are struggling with breastfeeding please read it. πŸ™‚ You always hear stories of how wonderful breastfeeding is and some even say how it feels wonderful… Well that is not the case for everyone. Everyone is different and it is okay to feel indifferent towards it. We all have different feelings towards breastfeeding. That is our right as human beings and as parents. Some might struggle with it Β and others don’t. Some, like I did with my first, might feel that there is something wrong with them for not loving it. I certainly felt so many mixed feelings in the early days of feeding my first. It was not easy. I was overly critical of myself and wondered if their was something wrong with me.

For me breastfeeding is what I thought and felt was best for my babies so I just did it. I focused on the positives. It really helped to focus on how beneficial it was for my baby and how it made my baby feel. There have been some wonderful bonding moments along the way. While it may not feel natural it really is the most natural way to feed a baby. It worked for us.

What I am getting at is, if you don’t LOVE breastfeeding that is okay. If you do love it, that is just great.

I am not telling you to breastfeed and I’m not judging you if you choose/chose not to. Everyone has different life experiences, thoughts and feelings. At the end of the day you just have to make a educated choice on what you want to do and just do it.
Cheers, Danni

It is my knit-versary!

I can’t believe that I have been knitting for a year today!
Thanks to Meg for inspiring, enabling, encouraging me to give it a go. Without your kindness, generosity and patience it would not have been possible.

Thanks to Marty for understanding my need to have a hobby, encouraging me every step of the way, putting up with me playing youtube clips over and over again and for not getting openly frustrated with my special kind of crazy.

Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement along the way.

As crazy and ‘old Nanna’ as it sounds I certainly enjoy my hobby. This is what my year of knitting looks like.

My Hoodie (Coastal Hoodie) This one has been EPIC but is going to be a beautiful hoodie when it is finally finished. Halfway through the button band and still have the long sleeves to go.

blanketLastly, a blanket I am working on for my gorgeous sister. I am not following a pattern for this one. Just knitting like crazy trying to get through the first ball.

Sadly I don’t get much time to knit so it takes quite a while to get through each project. I look forward to many more.

Three Ring Circus

Please try and imagine that you have 7 hungry kids to feed… I certainly can’t.
Imagine that when you are feeding those 7 kids you have to consider that they have special dietary needs. Doesn’t sound easy does it!

Now please add their stories into the picture…

Three Ring Circus.

I’m thinking all of this is far from a walk in the park!

Bare with me…

By now most of you would know that I am totally obsessed with the idea/dream of owning a thermomix. You might also know that I love a good cause; a way I can help others have a better quality of life. Well today one of my lovely friends posted a link on her facebook page with this message

“For Facebook friends who know Tiff – so far we have raised $830 – nearly half way towards the purchase of the Thermomix for Tiff and her family.

Your donation can be made securely following the link bellow. We will give you regular updates on how we are going reaching our goal of $2000 ( cost of thermomix is $1939 , plus PayPal fees ). Thank you.”

I saw the post and wondered what her post was about so I sent her a message asking her if the post was for a good cause. My lovely friend took the time to send me some links and share Tiff’s story, and what a story to share.

Tiff is an amazing woman who has so much on her plate. She is much more than ‘just a stay at home mum’ to 7. Please if you haven’t clicked on the previous link click on this one and read her story.

Her friends are raising money to buy her a thermomix because Tiff definitely could do with one. It would save her so much time, money and truly make everyday life much easier for her and her family.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could please help by either donating to the cause or sharing this post.

Donations can be safely made here.

Every cent counts,
Cheers

Day 19 – Flab2Fab February

Well some how life got crazy and I haven’t been on to blog. We are up to day 19 of our challenge, a day of rest.

My biggest hurdle to keeping on track is remembering to actually JFDI!

So I will part with 2 tips:

1. Pop reminders into your phone for a set time.

2. Do NOT exercise after moisturizing your feet. It is bad for your health πŸ˜‰

Day 4 – Flab2Fab Challenge

So I just smashed Day 4 – have you?

It is not too late to join for those who were thinking of joining me. It doesn’t take long to complete this little challenge.

Today’s exercises are

– 25 sit-ups
– 6 pushups
– 20sec plank

Here is a cute pic of my little Bear trying to help me get strong. Every time I tried to day he climbed on my back to give me a big hug! *Bless*
