DIY Face Scrub

Not long ago my Mummy group and I were chatting about face products and my gorgeous friend recommended this homemade face scrub on this blog. I finally got around to buying olive oil and making it tonight.
It is truly BLISS. I’m loving how beautiful my skin feels right now. If you are in a DIY skincare mood then I highly recommend it.

Here is what you need to make it:
-A small container to keep it in
-Two tablespoons of sugar (I only have raw coffee or caster sugar so I used caster sugar)
-Two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
-A tiny tiny drop of vanilla essence (for the smell)
All you have to do is mix it up, wet your face and scrub away. Rinse and enjoy super soft skin.
Next time (since I am super obsessed with coconut oil atm) I will try it with coconut oil instead of olive oil. Here is a link on using coconut oil for gorgeous skin.
Enjoy. xxx

Perfect quote for today!

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

Feeling flat…

Sorry for the downer post but I let the ball drop for a while and I have put on some of the weight I lost. So today I am feeling pretty down and having a fat day, which really isn’t like me. I like to see the positives in life, to laugh and smile. I refuse to let this get to me!
So today I draw inspiration from some of my favourite quotes…

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

“Happiness is acceptance.”

I have chosen to accept my current physique and challenge myself to use it to make more change. I will make a new plan of attack because…

“Happy people plan actions, they don’t plan results.”
Dennis Waitley

I honestly need to push myself to get to where I want to be so today I start fresh.

I want to be toned, healthy and fit.

I want to say goodbye to the rolls because I am not a freaking bakery. I am Danni and I want to feel comfortable in my skin.

I acknowledge this next stage will not be an easy stage. It will be one that I need to push myself but if I don’t I will never get to where I want to be!

Until next time…

Goodbye 2012!

So 2012 was a mixed bag for us. Full of ups and downs and man did it go fast!!!!

The highlight was moving to the stunning southern highlands and embracing life. Shifting some weight and enjoying the fresh food and air.

For 2013 we want to continue on our healthy lifestyle path.

3 positives from 2012 are:
*moving to Moss Vale
*buying my dream camera
*our week of holiday.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me and my little family, for genuine friendships and understanding. I hope 2013 brings health and happiness to you all.

12wbt success

So today is weigh in Wednesday and I can happily share that I am 100g off my goal weight!

I am pleasantly surprised that I have gone so well and have achieved my goal already.

The 12wbt life style change hasn’t been hard at all. The food is fantastic and so easy to make.

For non-dieters like me or those struggling to lose weight I strongly recommend you try the 12wbt.

Now I am almost, at my goal I am going to reassess and plan where to go next.

Yesterday I was grateful for… (9/10/12)

Yesterday I was grateful for…

*My Neighbours – they have been giving us vegetables from their garden. Yesterday it was fresh spinach.

*Allison – her gift of eggs and just being such a beautiful caring friend. I really appreciate you lovely.

*Chocolate – I found some chocolate stashed in the cupboard.
