Vegetable Delivery Day

We love getting our vegetables and free range eggs delivered. Not only do we get to support a local business (Village Vegies) we can trust that our produce is fresh and mostly sourced from either local farmers and Australian farmers (sometimes, but not often, from NZ too).

For $35 we get pretty much all the fresh fruit and veg that we need in a week.

Thursday is our delivery day which makes it our favourite week day. I never grow tired of seeing the excitement on our boys faces. They love helping me unpack the box, telling me what each item is called and learning the names of what they haven’t seen before.

Each delivery is a new challenge. I base my meal plan around the contents of the box. It encourages us to eat more fresh fruit and Vegies. The most amazing benefit is our children have started eating more vegetables. Previously they were really fussy and refused to eat quite a few vegetables but now that they are learning more about the food they eat they are more willing to try everything.

In today’s delivery we got a wonderful bunch of celery. It is now chopped up in snack sized pieces just waiting to be crunched and munched on.

Feeling blessed

Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to a PartyLite candle party at my friends place. It was such a tempting party to attend full of lovely women and indulgent food. There were so many beautiful candles and accessories. I stayed strong and only ordered 2 melt packs. 🙂 I can’t wait for them to arrive. I was even lucky enough to win the lucky door prize! It is a pity I left early so didn’t get to bring my prize home.

I haven’t been using my candles lately so today when I woke I looked through my stash and chose one that a gorgeous friend of mine gave me. It is currently filling my house with its beautiful scent.

While I knit some more of my beautiful hoodie.

I hope where ever you are today something lovely brightens your day.

Day 2 – My fitness challenge

20130802-152208.jpg

I am unfit. Very, very unfit but I look forward to changing that.
Almost forgot to workout today. I can honestly say that I am running on an empty sleep bank and my mind isn’t very clear.

Like normal, I popped Charlie down for his nap, grabbed my bottle of water, my knitting and sat on my comfortable couch. Oh and how comfortable my couch felt! Looked up and saw the cross trainer.Thankfully we have it set up in the corner of our lounge-room, opposite my favourite couch. It seems to be a great place to have it because it is a nice reminder. I know 2 days does not make a habit but it is a step in the right direction.

Tonight I was thinking of trying this easy budget paleo chicken and spinach dish (served with rice for the boys). It looks super yummy.

Digging deep

Digging deep to find enough energy to get through today. I’ve already had today’s coffee quota so I’m hanging out to hit the cross trainer in the hope those exercise endorphins can get me through the day. 1.5 litres of water down. 🙂

Must re-train my brain. Currently it is under the impression that sleep would be better.

One day at a time 😉

Day 19 – Flab2Fab February

Well some how life got crazy and I haven’t been on to blog. We are up to day 19 of our challenge, a day of rest.

My biggest hurdle to keeping on track is remembering to actually JFDI!

So I will part with 2 tips:

1. Pop reminders into your phone for a set time.

2. Do NOT exercise after moisturizing your feet. It is bad for your health 😉
